About Paralegal Services
Paralegals can provide assistance and support to unrepresented litigants who are trying to navigate their way through a legal matter (in or out of court). There are many legal matters that do not require a lawyer. HMS provides cost effective services and support when lawyers are not required.
HMS Paralegal Services will provide paralegal services (as outlined on our services page), legal information and legal coaching.
What is legal information?
Legal information is general information about the law and legal processes. Examples of legal information are:

-

-
outlining options on how to deal with a legal issue (ie. alternatives to court);
-
explaining court processes and procedures;
-
explaining common legal terms.
What is Legal Advice?
Legal advice is applying the law to a specific situation or matter. Examples of legal advice (which we will not provide) are:
-
interpreting and explaining how the law applies to a specific situation;
-
recommending what steps to take in your matter;
-
guiding someone on what to say in court;
-
providing an opinion on possible outcome of a legal matter.
